INTL FCStone Financial Announces Anchor Sponsorship for Stop Soldier Suicide's 2016 Night for Life

Stop Soldier Suicide Dedicated to Saving U.S. Military Lives; Night for Life Proceeds to Support Organization's Efforts to Curb Suicides Among Servicemen and Veterans

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 23, 2016) - INTL FCStone Inc. (NASDAQ: INTL), through its subsidiaries offers diversified global financial services delivering execution and advisory services in commodities, currencies, and securities, today announced that the Broker-Dealer Division of its wholly owned subsidiary, INTL FCStone Financial Inc. ("the Company") is the Anchor Sponsor for Stop Soldier Suicide's 2016 Night for Life. The event will be held on June 2, 2016 from 7:00pm-11:00pm EDT at the Intrepid Air, Sea & Space Museum in New York. Tickets can be purchased here.

The 2016 Night for Life event will support Stop Soldier Suicide's mission to end military related suicide, to empower them to move forward with their lives, and to support them through times of struggle. All event proceeds will be used by the organization to provide support services for active duty soldiers and veterans. The evening offers attendees a unique opportunity to meet and show support for service members and veterans onboard the USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier. Featuring special performances by the American Bombshells and American Idol contestant Robbie Rosen, the Night for Life will bring awareness to the growing suicide epidemic among military service members.

Jacob Rappaport, Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets for INTL FCStone Financial, commented on today's news, "We are truly honored to be the Anchor Sponsor for the 2016 Night for Life, and to support Stop Soldier Suicide in its efforts to prevent suicide among U.S. military personnel. At INTL FCStone, we care deeply about those brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect this great nation. We are immensely proud to have the unique opportunity to support Stop Soldier Suicide in its noble endeavor, and would like to thank all U.S. military personnel, both active and retired, for all their tremendous courage and selflessness."

Suicide is the number one cause of death of our service members and Veterans. Every day more than 22 Veterans and 1 Active Duty service member take their own lives. Burdened with the stigma associated with mental health issues and the military "shame" surrounding PTS (Post Traumatic Stress), they turn instead to suicide as their only option to relieve suffering. In the most recent wars, the number of deaths by suicide exceeded combat fatalities by more than two thousand. From the Vietnam era, the United States had lost more than 100,000 service members to suicide, almost twice the number of combat losses, just five years after the conclusion of the Vietnam War.

Jason Roncoroni, Executive Director, Stop Soldier Suicide, commented, "Our service members and their families sacrifice to protect our nation, and in return, we share in the obligation to support our Veterans and their Families. On behalf of Stop Soldier Suicide, I am grateful for the leadership role that INTL FCStone Financial assumes as an anchor sponsor for this event to bring greater awareness to this tragic problem. With the continued support of active partners like INTL FCStone Financial we can and will solve the problem of military-related suicide and enable our Veterans to discover the post-military life they deserve."

Stop Soldier Suicide is the first national civilian not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing active duty and veteran suicide. Founded by ex-Army and active duty soldiers, the organization seeks to bring awareness to, and actively curb, the growing suicide epidemic among U.S. service members. Working in conjunction with partners across individual, public, and private domains, Stop Soldier Suicide provides those military personnel experiencing a crisis with access to support through its network of providers and partners. Stop Soldier Suicide offers high-touch services connecting military personnel to resources that alleviate many of the stresses that they face, including job loss, relationship issues, mental health needs, financial worries, housing, and more.

Stop Soldier Suicide fills an important role for the service members, Veterans, and families across this country because current efforts in suicide prevention are not working. Despite more than 900 programs in the Department of Defense, the suicide rate has remained consistently high for 7 years. Across the VA, only 40% of Veterans are enrolled in VA Healthcare. We are educating and improving our federal institutions by providing our services and helping them learn from our case management feedback and experiences.
